About Us
We are a brave, curious, compassionate group of thinkers and doers. Diverse in faith, ethnicity, and spirituality, but aligned in our desire to make a difference for the greater good, we have a track record of standing on the side of love, justice, and peace since 1865.
Our history is one of radical roots and self-motivated spiritual people: we think for ourselves and recognize that life experience influences our beliefs more than anything else.
We need not think alike to love alike. On the forefront of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) inclusion for more than 40 years, our membership encompasses all sexual orientations and gender identities. Within our congregation you will also find people with a religious background, people with none, people who believe in a God, people who don’t, and people who prefer to let the mystery be.
Whether you identify as Unitarian Universalist, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Humanist, Jewish, Muslim, Pagan, atheist and agnostic, or your own personal form of spirituality, you will have a home here.
Love is the spirit of this church and service is its law. To dwell together in peace, to seek the truth in love, and to help one another; this is our covenant. We welcome you: your whole self, with all your truths and your doubts, your worries and your hopes. Join us on this extraordinary adventure of faith. Get involved!
